The Ghana Education Service (GES)’s recruitment portal now open and they are inviting applications from passionate and committed graduates who are interested in teaching. If you hold a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree or any relevant qualification in education, this is your chance to join the Service.
What You’ll Do
As a teacher, you will be expected to:
- Use modern, 21st-century technology to make learning engaging and effective.
- Support students with different learning needs and help each of them achieve their best.
- Help learners improve their research skills using digital tools and new technologies.
- Use different assessment methods to accurately measure students’ understanding and progress.
- Follow the National Teaching Standards and Code of Conduct to maintain professionalism and ethical behavior at all times.
- Take part in continuous professional development to keep your skills and knowledge up to date.
Who Can Apply?
To qualify, you must:
- Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a Bachelor’s Degree with a Postgraduate Diploma/Certificate in Education (PGDE/PGCE), or a Diploma in Basic Education.
- Have completed your National Service.
- Be in good standing with the National Teaching Council (NTC) and hold a valid Teaching License.
- Have strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Be willing to accept posting to any part of the country, including deprived areas.
