Arnold however said the influence of TikTokers in the promotion of music on social media and outside of Ghana should not be underestimated by its citizens.
Seasoned entertainment pundit Arnold Asamoah Baidoo has described TikToker Asantewaa’s comment on promotion of songs as loose talk.
Arnold Asamoah Baidoo has also responded to Martina Dwamena, also known as Asantewaa, who claimed that Ghanaian TikTokers are responsible for making songs hits.
In the entertainment sector and on social media, Asantewaa’s comment elicited conflicting responses.
She asserted that without the help of Ghanaian TikTokers, musicians could never make their songs popular on social media.
She asserted that she cannot exempt TikTokers from their promotional efforts because they have the authority to ensure that the song receives the necessary attention, regardless of how relevant and skilled a musician has been at their trade.
“It was loose talk, I am sure she went home to think about it and realized she hasn’t spoken well so she was advised to apologize. But we should underrate the influence of TikTok impact on the promotion of music,” Arnold said on United Showbiz.
“Universal, Sony, and Warner Bros., the three largest record labels in the world at the time we’re talking, use TikTok to promote their songs. Therefore, if the three major record labels acknowledge the impact, who are we to stand here and claim that their influence is unfounded? “Arnold threw in.
He said why Asantewaa’s remark was just a casual conversation “But the point is that the song transcends all platforms. They are not necessary for any song to become a successful song, which is why I am claiming that it is loose talk “.
Because there is empirical proof of songs becoming popular independently of TikTok, he continued, “nobody can sit down and claim if a song doesn’t pass through our hands it can become a smash.”
However, he rambled that every generation has a platform through which musicians can market and showcase their tunes to a global audience.
Arnold observed that music producers, DJs, radio hosts, and other industry participants once had a significant impact on the promotion of songs.
He asserted that this generation has come up with a fantastic plan to leverage TikTok and its influencers to market their music as well.
