Mr. Dennis Owusu Sarkodie, a lecturer at KNUST has stated that National Service, NABCO, and Teacher Trainee Allowance are unnecessary and should be canceled.
According to the lecturer from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), the allowances given to these personnels could be used for something else which could profit the nation.
The government of Ghana, according to Mr. Dennis Owusu Sarkodie, should rescind the allowances.
He added that the money being squandered on National Service personnel should be used to create jobs in the country instead.
“The government should decline those monies given to national service, NABCO and others in order to get enough money to establish jobs that will employ people indefinitely.” He stated on Tuesday’s Oyerepa Breakfast show.
He highlighted that roughly 20% of government employees effectively contribute to the country’s labor productivity growth.
In any way, 80 percent of them participate in the recompenses for the aid with no commitment at all. As a result, if the young or service personnel are given permanent jobs, joblessness in Ghana will be reduced.
He also stated that the country is wasting money on “NABCO and teacher trainee stipends,” and that those funds should be diverted to create jobs for the youth.
In Conclusion to the lecturer, National Service, NABCO, and Teacher Trainee Allowance are unnecessary.
This comes few days after the Finance minister of Ghana, Ken Ofori Atta informed the 2021 graduating class of UPSA that the government’s payroll is full hence the youth should start their own business or May suffer unemployment.
