Honorary Consul urges more Ghanaians to apply for Indonesian scholarships

The Honorary Consul of the Republic of Indonesia in Ghana, Honourable Paskal A.B. Rois has called on more Ghanaians to submit applications to access the Indonesian government’s Kemitraan Negara Berkembang Scholarship (popularly known as KNB Scholarship).

The KNB Scholarship is financial assistance offered by the Indonesian government to prospective international students from developing countries to pursue Master’s degrees at Indonesian universities.

The scholarship has been in existence since 1992, however, only two Ghanaians have applied to access the scholarship over the last three years, a situation the Consul found troubling.

Speaking on the sidelines of a brief ceremony to welcome the latest beneficiary of the scholarship back to Ghana, Honourable Rois extolled the benefits of the all-expenses-paid KNB scholarship which he said offers the experience of studying in top Indonesian universities and living in one of the world’s most diverse and vibrant societies.

He said the scholarship was offered to potential students from developing countries to get their Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate degrees in a wide range of fields of study including Humanities, Engineering, Social Sciences, Sciences, and Education.
