Link Community Development has started a new job Recruitment. We are searching for a dedicated and result oriented individual for the position of a Project Coordinator.
Project Name: Luminos Second Chance Project


 The Project Coordinator will provide full time support to the successful implementation of a Complementary Basic Education (CBE) programme called The Luminos Second Chance Project in the Ashanti Region. The Project Coordinator will be part of a team of staff ensuring the effective implementation of the project in the targeted project districts which currently include Sekyedumase and Sekyere Central

  • S/He will have primary responsibility for ensuring that all activities related to the selection of learners, establishment of Luminos classes, commencement of ALP classes and monitoring of the classes community are planned and carried out effectively and efficiently.
  • S/He will be responsible for building strong collaborative partnerships with relevant stakeholders at the district and community levels and work closely with the Field Supervisors and facilitators to reduce OOSC in target communities, and to strengthen and enhance Link Community Development’s partner relationships.
  • This position will be based in Ashanti Region, and will report directly to the LCD Head office team based in Accraand headed by the Executive Director.


  • Provide leadership at the field level for all component of the Complementary Basic Education (CBE) Project.
  • In collaboration with the field supervisor, LCD head office team and other stakeholders coordinate the organization of community entry and participatory community engagements.
  • Coordinate the planning and implementation of all component-related workshops, meetings and associated activities.
  • Coordinate activities of all relevant actors in theimplementation of the CBE programme (school administrators, teachers, circuit supervisors, SMC/LCs, District Assembly, Complementary Education Agency, etc;) for the effective planning.
  • Meet regularly with other team members to assess and monitor project implementation and needs of the communities.
  • Perform effective monitoring of the educational progress of all learners through conduct of assessments and on-site class monitoring.
  • Liaise with Finance & Administration (Head office) team to ensure prudent and efficient use of project funds.
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports on all field activities and ensure that all field reporting deadlines are met.
  • Liaise with GES officers from project districts and facilitate cross-learning with them.
  • Liaise with other programme partners and relevant stakeholders to ensure collaboration and effective partnership.
  • Participate in the development of technical documents including proposal and report writing.
  • Contribute, as requested, in the production of materials featuring activities and accomplishments in the field for public relations and fundraising purposes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Sciences, or related field required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years working experience on an education or similar project
  • Recent experience in project management, implementation and monitoring and evaluation.
  • Technical expertise in formal education, behavior change, community mobilization, and community-based service provision.
  • Familiarity with Ghana government education policies, strategies, plans and current/past programming.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage partners at different levels and to represent education priorities and issues.
  • Strong leadership, management, interpersonal and IT skills.
  • Willingness and demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to communicate well in Asante Twi

Link Community Development (LCD) is a non-governmental organisation in Ghana, working in partnership with the MOE/GES and other stakeholders in Education. LCD Ghana provides a safe environment to ensure Safeguarding and Protection of project beneficiaries, their communities as well as staff.

LCD is implementing the Luminos Second Chance Project in 2 districts in the Ashanti Region, namely; Sekyedumase and Sekyere Central where there are observed high levels of extreme poverty, in combination with deep-seated traditional and social norms which often discriminates against the have nots and more especially against women and subsequently negatively impacting their education. Ultimately, the project is aimed at helping put back into formal school leaners that have dropped out of school.
