A leading pharmaceutical company in Ghana, Ernest Chemists Ltd, is here with a new employment opportunity. They need a hands-on Pharmacist to ensure that medications and other health related products dispensed to customers are suitable and appropriate.
Key Accountabilities:
- Dispense pharmaceutical and medical products as prescribed by doctors to customers
- Review prescriptions to ensure accuracy and to evaluate their suitability for the patient
- Provide information and advice on drugs and other health related products, their side effects, correct dosage and proper storage.
- Assist customers by interpreting symptoms and providing immediate treatment or refer customers to a suitable physician
- Provide pharmaceutical care and counseling to patients on drug interactions.
- Provide pharmaceutical expertise to customers on the safe use of medications.
- Monitor customers’ drug therapies to avoid interactions with other medications
- Review and interpret physicians’ directives and assist in resolving any therapeutic incompatibilities.
- Provide professional advice to management about the essential product items to stock under each pharmacological class
- Monitor current and prevailing trend in community/retail pharmacy industry with the view of updating and improving practice in the pharmacy
- Provide innovative ideas and demonstration of strong business prowess to make and keep the pharmacy competitive

Qualification Required & Experience
- Bachelor degree in Pharmacy / Pharm D / M Pharm
- A member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana and a valid license to practice as a Pharmacist.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
