Available Positions:
1. Pharmacist – Pharmacy Team Lead
This role is central to ensuring the smooth daily operations of the pharmacy while upholding best practices, patient safety, and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee sales assistants, cashiers, and other pharmacy staff
- Prepare medications and execute prescription orders for collection or delivery
- Order pharmacy supplies and control inventory on a daily basis
- Enforce best-practice protocols for the storage of prescription drugs and controlled substances
- Verify prescription details with healthcare professionals when necessary
- Advise customers on the correct use, dosage, and possible side effects of medications
- Maintain approved drug and controlled substances lists and monitor expiry dates
- Monitor product displays, shelves, and the overall appearance of the pharmacy
- Address customer requests and resolve complaints professionally
- Train new pharmacy employees and manage staff shift schedules
- Requirements:
- Registered Pharmacist in good standing with a valid practicing license from the Pharmacy Council of Ghana
- Demonstrable experience in a managerial role within a pharmacy setting
- Strong knowledge of pharmacological uses and side effects of prescription and controlled drugs
- Advanced understanding of safe storage protocols for controlled substances
- Exceptional communication skills for both customer engagement and team leadership
- Ability to proactively follow up on any irregularities in processed prescriptions
- Competency in pharmacy management software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum of 1+ year experience working in a retail pharmacy
- Reporting Line:
- The Pharmacy Team Lead reports directly to the Retail Operations Lead.

- 2. Pharmacy Technicians / Medicine Counter Assistants
- This position requires professionalism, accuracy, and a strong commitment to patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense medications and medical products under the supervision of the Pharmacist
- Count pills, label bottles, price items, and compound medications as directed
- Perform administrative duties including answering phones, receiving and entering prescription orders, operating cash registers, and restocking inventory
- Gather, organise, and assess patient information
- Provide patients with information and education on over-the-counter medications
- Liaise with healthcare providers and patients to obtain accurate prescription information
- Answer patients’ medication-related questions under the supervision of the Pharmacist
- Take inventory of drugs on hand and accurately record results
- Place orders for additional drugs as directed
- Maintain electronic patient records
- Prepare billing information for medications
- Complete sales transactions for prescription medicines, over-the-counter products, and other pharmacy items
- Ensure the pharmacy premises are kept neat, clean, and orderly at all times
Qualifications and Skills
- Certification as a trained Medicine Counter Assistant or Pharmacy Technician from an institution accredited by the Pharmacy Council of Ghana
- A valid Pharmacy Council practice license number is an added advantage
- Strong communication skills and a patient-friendly approach
- Ability to proactively follow up on irregularities in processed prescriptions
- Competency in pharmacy management software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum of 2+ years experience working in a retail pharmacy
Reporting Line:
The Pharmacy Technician or Medicine Counter Assistant reports directly to the Pharmacy Team Lead.
