Ghanaian household name, Nana Ama McBrown recounts a point in her life when she was all popular but broke.

Actress Nana Ama McBrown has admitted that Kumawood film producers once passed over her for a role, and that during that time, she became bankrupt.

The renowned actress said that in the early 2000s, just as her career was ready to take off, she strangely started to develop enemies, in an interview with Dave Hammer on Pure 95.7fm.

According to Nana Ama McBrown, the influential figures in Kumawood started to neglect her and stopped putting her in any of the blockbuster films.

According to Nana Ama Mcbrown, she was experiencing severe financial hardship in 2006–2007 when Dave Hammer, the host of the show she was on, handed her some endorsement contracts to sign.

After a while, the conflict she had with the biggest names in the film business was overcome, and she soon began receiving offers for roles in films once more.

Nana Ama Mcbrown, when questioned about why she had been abandoned, declined to elaborate but acknowledged that Kumawood was engaged in some form of internal conflict.

Recently, Nana Ama McBrown has been in the news for bad reasons. People have lambasted the actress for doing liposuction, one which according to them, least expected of the revered actress and media personality.

Agya Koo and Kwaku Manu are more Kumawood celebrities who have experienced the same cruel destiny as Nana Ama McBrown.
