The National Examinations Council (NECO) has has agreed no SSCE exam be written on Eid-ul-Adha.
The National Examinations Council (NECO) would like to clarify that no exams have been scheduled for Saturday, July 9, 2022.
Contrary to claims made in some places, the Council has not scheduled an examination for Sallah Day, July 9, 2022. (Eid- Adha).
This was announced by the council via their Twitter account.
This came after requests from the Islamic organization MURIC for NECO to postpone exams on Sallah Day.
The NECO claims that the Council has always included enough provisions for religious festivals when determining exam dates because it is aware of their significance.
In order to provide Muslim believers enough time to observe the holiday, the Council has granted a full examination-free week in the current Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) for School-based candidates, running from Friday, July 8, to Wednesday, July 13, 2022.
Recall that the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) for School-based Candidates for 2022 started on June 27 and ended on August 12 of that same year.
Meanwhile, a recent bandit attack on Sokoto State’s Rabah Local Government Area, four farmers were killed.
In a statement released on Monday, the Sokoto State Police Command acknowledged the attack to Channels Television.
Sanusi Abubakar, the state’s police public relations officer, claimed that the attackers used deadly weapons to attack the farmers on their farms, resulting in the deaths of four people.
The 18-year-old female was kidnapped during the incident, the Divisional Police Officer of Rabah stated, adding that the bodies of the victims have been given to their respective families.
